Attorney General’s Office Encourages Public Comments on Community Medical Center’s Proposed Sale
Today, Montana’s Office of Consumer Protection launched an online form where anyone interested in Community Medical Center’s proposed sale can submit comments easily. The form is available at https://dojmt.gov/consumer/for-consumers/cmc-public-comments/.
On Tuesday, Community Medical Center of Missoula announced that it had signed an asset purchase agreement with Billings Clinic and Regional Care Hospital Partners. Because the proposed transaction involves the sale of a nonprofit organization, the Montana Attorney General’s Office has a statutory responsibility to review the proposal and ensure the charitable assets are protected. That review process is outlined on the Department of Justice’s website at https://dojmt.gov/consumer/for-consumers/community-medical-center/, where all documents related to the proposed transaction and Community Medical Center’s governance are available for download.
