Next week in Missoula, citizens will have an opportunity to hear from representatives of the Montana Attorney General’s Office, Community Medical Center, and Billings Clinic and Regional Hospital Partners (RCHP/Billings) regarding the proposed sale of Community Medical Center. The forum will include time for comments and questions as well as presentations from all parties involved.

The Attorney General’s Office is currently reviewing the proposed transaction. Although not required to do so by law, the office has been soliciting public comment since September 12.

“State law sets out a role for the Attorney General’s Office to review specific aspects of the transaction, and we want members of the community served by Community Medical Center to weigh in with their thoughts,” said Ed Eck, chief of Montana’s Office of Consumer Protection. “We also want to give the parties involved an opportunity to make their case and answer questions directly.”

Former Montana Supreme Court Justice William Leaphart will moderate the event.

More information on the proposed transaction, as well as a form for submitting comments to the Attorney General’s Office, is available online here.
