REAL ID appointments are now available!

Appointments are REQUIRED for REAL ID. There are some steps you must follow to properly schedule your REAL ID appointment. But first, visit mtrealid.gov to ensure you have all required documents and the latest up-to-date information on Montana REAL ID!

STEP 1

CHOOSE A REAL ID LOCATION

If you use our online scheduler, you must select a location from the list below. If you schedule your REAL ID appointment at any other location, you will not be able to apply for a REAL ID.

Billings | Bozeman | Butte | Cut Bank | Deer Lodge | Dillon | Eureka | Glasgow | Glendive | Great Falls | Havre | Helena | Kalispell | Lewistown | Libby | Livingston | Miles City | Missoula | Plentywood | Polson | Red Lodge | Sidney | Stevensville | Superior | Thompson Falls | Wolf Point

STEP 2

SCHEDULE YOUR REAL ID APPOINTMENT ON OR AFTER JANUARY 7, 2019

We will begin issuing REAL IDs starting January 7, 2019. You must schedule your REAL ID appointment on or after this date to receive a REAL ID!

STEP 3

SELECT YOUR SERVICE

Don’t sweat the small things. Select your service and we will accommodate your REAL ID application depending on your license’s expiration date. No need to look for a REAL ID option, because locations issuing REAL ID will increase ALL appointment times by 10 minutes to accommodate the extended process required for REAL ID. Select a service, and we’ll handle the rest!

Written & Road Tests

Applicants obtaining their first or new driver license, upgrading to a commercial license, or obtaining a motorcycle endorsement will need to take both written and road tests.

Written and road tests require separate appointments

You must first successfully pass all required written tests before scheduling your road test

After passing the written test(s), commercial driver applicants must hold their learner's license for 14 days before taking a road test

Appointments can also be made by calling the Customer Care Center at 1 (866) 450-8034 during regular business hours. You may experience shorter wait times by calling during lower call volume days, Wednesday and Thursday.
