Civil Process is designed for both sworn and non-sworn personnel whose work includes processing and service of civil papers and conducting or overseeing any duties associated with their service.

Topics covered include liability in civil process, fees for services, time constraints, abandoned vehicles, Sheriff’s sales, receipt and records of process, subpoenas, summons and complaints, out of state papers, evictions, Landlord/Tenant Act, Orders of protection, proceedings to determine availability of property, seizure of livestock, prejudgment writ of attachment, injunctions, sureties, declaration of homestead, writs of execution and research tools available.

There is no lodging available for this course at the academy due to on-going remodeling projects.
