Event Details

This program is research based and designed to lessen officer and agency liability with regards to the use of force. At the conclusion of training, participants will be able to explain and instruct control principles, tactical handcuffing, pressure point control tactics, defensive counterstrikes, shoulder pin restraint systems, baton systems, weapon retention and disarming techniques, PPCT instructor development and training protocols and human factors relating to the use of force. Periodic re-certification is required. 40 hours of POST credit is available. To register send a MLEA Course Application to: [email protected].

The Montana Law Enforcement Academy is undergoing a large remodeling project in 2019. As such, no rooms are available for professional programs students for this course. Arrangements for housing must be made separate and apart from the academy. The full meal plan will continue to be available for all students.
