Event Details

“The Montana Violent Crime Investigators Association (MVCIA) is excited to present the 2019 Conference taking place on October 7th through 11th, 2019 in Missoula, Montana.  This year’s conference theme is “The Investigator’s Aftermath”.  The conference is going to concentrate on large scale homicide events.  Instructors are going to approach these cases from the investigators point of view.  Some of the high profile incidents covered include the Dallas Police Shoot Out, Las Vegas open air venue active shooter, and the Texas Church shooting.   This year we will also include an 8 hour block covering interview and interrogation as well as touch on the topic of courtroom testimony.

The conference will conclude with a presentation from one of the founders of genealogical DNA and how it can aid active investigations, cold investigation as well as found dead/coroner cases. This investigative tool is one of the newest methods assisting law enforcement in identifying and arresting violent offenders.  The conference will also cover a Montana cold case homicide solved by the use of genealogical DNA evidence.

This conference is hosted by MVCIA who strives to bring only the top quality instructors to Montana at a very affordable price.  Registration is at a reduced rate of $200 per student until July 31st.  After this date, registration increases to $225 per student.
