Great Falls Driver Exam Station Temporarily Moves to Fairgrounds

HELENA – Motor Vehicle Division Administrator Brenda Nordlund said Friday that the Great Falls driver exam station will be closed September 30 and October 1 to temporarily relocate the office to the Fine Arts Building at the Montana State Fairgrounds.

Licensing services at the fairgrounds location will begin on Monday, October 4 and continue there until renovations are complete for the station’s new permanent location in Ironworks Square. Nordlund expects the permanent location to be ready by December.

In the meantime, Kristine Thatcher, Field Operations Bureau Chief, anticipates that the move will not inconvenience customers.

“Now that the Great Falls exam station requires appointments for most services, we only have a few unexpected, walk-in customers,” Thatcher said. “When customers make their appointment online or through the call center, we’ll remind them to go to the fairgrounds.”

People who do not have computer access should call the MVD Customer Service Center toll free at 1-866-450-8034 to schedule an appointment.
