MVD Announces New Appointment Scheduling System Implementation Dates, Locations
Earlier this month, the Montana Department of Justice’s Motor Vehicle Division (MVD) announced its Driver License Bureau is implementing new software for its on-line appointment scheduling services, giving more Montanans the opportunity to schedule an appointment versus relying on walk-in only services.
The new system, which works well on mobile devices, replaces an eight-year-old system and allows customers the ease and convenience of scheduling online. The design of the system facilitates a more efficient manner of scheduling, editing, or canceling appointments.
Currently, the following driver exam stations require scheduled appointments: Billings, Columbus, Eureka, Glendive, Great Falls, Kalispell, Miles City, Red Lodge, Sidney, and Superior. The new appointment scheduling system was recently implemented in Bozeman, Stevensville, Thompson Falls, Superior, Missoula, Helena, and Townsend. All other driver exam stations operate on a first-come, first-served basis.
The new appointment system is anticipated to go on-line in the following areas on these dates:
November 24, 2015
Includes travel stations of Choteau and Fort Benton
December 2, 2015
Includes travel station of Eureka
December 2, 2015
December 8, 2015
Includes travel stations of Columbus, Hardin, and Red Lodge
December 9, 2015
Includes travel stations of Baker, Broadus, Colstrip, and Forsyth
December 15, 2015
Includes Circle travel station
December 22, 2015
Includes Plentywood travel station
The remainder of MVD’s offices are set to go on line at the end of December; specific locations and dates will be announced.
Customers are encouraged to visit the Driver Services section of the Montana Department of Justice’s website at www.dojmt.gov/driving. It offers details about required documentation, fees, and other important information people need to know before scheduling appointments, including written and road tests, converting an out-of-state license to Montana, license renewals, and completion of some types of driver education programs. Once an appointment has been made, an email or text message will be sent to confirm.
People who do not have computer or smart phone access should call the MVD Customer Service Center toll free at 1-866-450-8034 to schedule an appointment.
