Harlowton, MT – Captain Chad Dever, District II Commander of the Montana Highway Patrol, announced today that Trooper Brennan Boots will begin utilizing social media to connect directly with citizens in Central Montana as part of the agency’s Tweeting Trooper program. Boots can be found on Twitter using the handle @trooper_boots. Boots will cover a region that includes Teton, Cascade, Judith Basin, Fergus, Petroleum, Musselshell, Wheatland, and Golden Valley counties. Trooper Boots intends to provide accurate, timely, and relevant updates on events of importance to the Central Montana community, including information on road conditions, crashes, educational safety tips, and more.
“Social media is where everything is happening these days,” says Captain Dever. “We’re excited to be a part of that and interact directly with the members of the public that we serve,” he continued.
The Montana Highway Patrol launched the Tweeting Trooper program in early 2018 as a way to develop their collaborative approach to community-policing and to interact and build relationships with members of the communities they serve. There are currently eight Tweeting Troopers stationed across the entire state:
