Class Location: Billings Police Training Room, 4810 Midland Road, Billings, MT 59101

Pre-requisite: Students must have successfully completed a QRF Basic, or equivalent course. Contact Wayne if you have questions.

Tuition: 

  • $800. Payment by check or credit card. Credit card payments incur a 3.5% processing fee.  Make checks payable to Trinity Tactical Consulting, LLC).  Full tuition payment required for registration.

  • Refundable with 30-day notice prior to class date. Student substitution allowed.

Course Overview:

This 32-hour Montana POST Certified course will combine classroom instruction with practical exercises.  Classroom time will be limited only to refresh on the relevant topics covered in the basic course.  The majority of the time of this course will be spent conducting force-on-force scenarios to build upon the skills learned in the basic course. A building block approach will be utilized to enhance the students’ skills and confidence while operating under stress.  Topics covered and trained using force-on-force drills include but are not limited to:

  • Emergency rescues of down persons and officers
  • CQB and room clearing (covert, slow & methodical and dynamic movement)
  • Crisis entries to save hostages
  • Arrest team tactics
  • Immediate action drills

Student Equipment Requirements:

  • Note taking material
    • Laptop is optional, there is NO course manual
  • All individually assigned tactical gear (if issued)
    • Helmet, ballistic protection, uniform, radio com gear, eye pro, battle belt, etc.
  • Pistol and/or Rifle with Simunition or UTM conversion kits.
    • If you are not issued a rifle, a pistol will be adequate.
  • 200 rounds of marking cartridges
  • Force-on-force protective gear.  FULL FACE, HEAD, and NECK PROTECTION IS REQUIRED!
  • “Blue” or other colored training tourniquet.
  • “Blue” TASER is recommended.

Instructor Bio:

 Wayne DuBois – Retired as a law enforcement administrator with more than 27 years of law enforcement experience and active SWAT team member for 25 years.  During his career, Wayne has responded to, supervised, or been in command of over a thousand critical incidents, including hundreds of SWAT operations.  These operations included high risk warrant service, barricaded suspects, armed suicidal subjects, and hostage situations.  Prior to law enforcement, Wayne served 4 years on active duty as a ground surveillance systems operator in the U.S. Army, including deployment to Southwest Asia for 6 months during Operation Desert Shield/Storm. Wayne received the Medal of Valor for actions taken during a SWAT Operation and was named SWAT Officer of the Year and Police Officer of the Year by the Benton County Sheriff’s Office. Wayne is a certified force science analyst and realistic de-escalation instructor and holds instructor certificates in multiple disciplines related to tactics and SWAT.  Additionally, he also provides expert witness and case analysis for cases involving law enforcement tactics and use of force.  Wayne has also had two published articles on SWAT procedures and operations in a national publication, “The Tactical Edge.”  Wayne holds a M.A. in Executive Leadership from Liberty University.
