Course Overview:

This 24-hour Montana POST Certified Course will combine classroom instruction with practical exercises.  Considerations for the planning and execution of undercover and confidential source rescue team operations during undercover law enforcement operations will be the focus of this course.  Topics covered include but are not limited to:

  • UC/CS rescue team planning for various venues.
  • Rescue team equipment considerations.
  • Breaching techniques specific to the rescue mission.
  • Multiple force on force scenarios throughout the course

Student Equipment Requirements:

  • Note taking material
  • All individually assigned tactical gear (if issued)
    • Helmet, ballistic protection, uniform (clearly marked with POLICE or SHERIFF), radio com gear, eye pro, battle belt, etc.
  • Pistol and/or Rifle with Simunition or UTM conversion kits.
    • If you are not issued a rifle, a pistol will be adequate.
  • 100 rounds of marking cartridges
  • Force-on-force protective gear.  FULL FACE, HEAD, and NECK PROTECTION IS REQUIRED!
  • Laptop computer is optional.  Course material will be provided in electronic format.

Instructor Bio:

 Wayne DuBois – Retired from law enforcement as a law enforcement executive with more than 27 years of law enforcement experience.  Wayne was an active SWAT team member for over 20 years, as well as serving 5 years as a tactical and/or incident commander. During his career, Wayne has responded to, supervised, or been in command of hundreds of SWAT operations, including high risk warrant service, barricaded suspects, armed suicidal subjects, hostage situations and numerous vehicles take-downs, surveillance and take-away, and UC/CS rescue operations.  Additionally, he was the supervisor of Street Crimes Unit for 5 years where he supervised numerous UC/CS Rescue Operations. Prior to law enforcement, Wayne served 4 years on active duty as a ground surveillance systems operator in the U.S. Army, including deployment to Southwest Asia for 6 months during Operation Desert Shield/Storm. Named SWAT Officer of the Year and Police Officer of the Year by the Benton County Sheriff’s Office. Wayne is a certified instructor in multiple disciplines, is a certified Force Science Analyst and Realistic De-Escalation Instructor, a certified emotional intelligence coach, and has had two published articles on SWAT procedures and operations in a national publication, “The Tactical Edge.”  Wayne holds a M.A. in Executive Leadership from Liberty University.
