In 2020, the Division of Criminal Investigation entered into a partnership with the Social Security Administration’s Office of Inspector General to establish a Cooperative Disability Investigations (CDI) Program in Montana. The CDI Task Force consists of an Assistant Special agent in Charge, a Team Leader, two DCI Agents, and two Program Specialists. This team works to uncover fraud related to Social Security Disability Insurance (SSDI), Supplemental Security Income (SSI), Medicare, Medicaid, and other public assistance programs.
