Michele Morgenroth is the SAKI Site Coordinator.  She earned her bachelor’s degree in criminal justice and psychology from Chadron State College.  From 2007-2014 she worked for the Wyoming Department of Family Services as a Youth Services Supervisor at the Wyoming Girl’s School where she gained experience working with youthful offenders. From 2014-2024 she worked for the Montana Department of Corrections, first as the Department’s Policy Manager and then the PREA Coordinator. She has facilitated training on numerous PREA-related topics, offender behavior management techniques, conducting administrative investigations, and conducting urinalysis drug testing. As the SAKI Site Coordinator, her role is to serve as the central point of contact for the statewide SAKI multidisciplinary team and federal grant partners.  In collaboration with DOJ leadership, she is responsible for fostering and coordinating communication and activities among community partners. She directs submission of SAKs for testing, cold case reviews, survivor notifications, and coordination with local agencies.

Alesha Woodland is the SAKI Cold Case Investigator.  She became a law enforcement officer in 2011.  In 2019 she was hired by the Montana Department of Justice, Division of Criminal Investigation, as the Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) Investigator.  She gained experience tracking down individuals involved in the production, distribution, and possession of child sexual abuse material, sexual abuse of minors, and helped identify victims of child exploitation and sexual abuse.  She was also assigned to the FBI Montana Child Exploitation and Human Trafficking Task Force from 2022 to 2024 where she conducted numerous online undercover operations to identify predators and arrest subjects for online predatory behavior.  As the SAKI Cold Case Investigator, she works closely with the DCI Major Case Section and investigates cold case sexual assault and sexual intercourse without consent cases that may have a nexus to other violent crimes such as homicide, assault, abuse, or abduction. She reengages with survivors, witnesses, and suspects, participates in survivor notifications about the status of their sexual assault kit, and connects them with advocates.  She also conducts case reviews with local Sexual Assault Response Teams from cold cases that receive a CODIS hit.
