“This intense course is designed to develop the knowledge and skills necessary to conduct firearms training for law enforcement agencies and personnel. Handgun, shotgun and long gun proficiency is a prerequisite. Upon completion, participants will be able to conduct P.O.S.T. certified firearms training for law enforcement personnel (instructor development or other approved instructor course required). Topics covered include safety rules, adult learning, training liability, target diagnostics and troubleshooting techniques, tactical scenarios and drills and handgun and long gun concepts. Before graduating the course, you will be required to successfully complete the LEOB qualification course. A failure at two attempts to qualify, will result in the student being dismissed from the course. This qualification will occur on the last day of training. Because of this, department administrators are encouraged to send only qualified firearms operators who have shown proficiency in the use of a handgun prior to attending this course.
