Event Details

Leadership is an elusive term. Many of us can describe the traits we would like to see in a great leader, but struggle with exactly what leadership is. IGO  leadership focuses on a definition of leadership that is easily understood; Influencing people to achieve organizational goals while at the same time developing individuals as future leaders. More importantly, this definition will give the current and future leader a clear path to expand their personal leadership skills as well as understanding the need for ethical leadership at all levels of the organization.

IGO Leadership is a fast paced, interactive, knowledge packed educational experience designed as a jumpstart for anyone who desires to develop and/or improve their leadership potential regardless of their current position in their organization. The instruction is based on behavioral science theories that focus on the development of individuals, group dynamics and functions, and the leader’s role in understanding the organization as a whole. Participants in this workshop will explore several behavioral science theories that help us to better understand and explore our own leadership potential. Whether you are a front line officer, records clerk or dispatcher, or the Chief, CEO or Superintendent of an organization, leadership is everyone’s responsibility. Leaders and followers revolve
around a common mission, each supporting and challenging each other. This training will provide participants with the knowledge to consider how their actions affect the goals of the organization as well as the performance of individuals and groups.

Instructors:
Robert & Donna White provide a dynamic and entertaining learning experience and are a very unique teaching duo. Robert (Bob) spent over 36 years in Law Enforcement retiring as a Deputy Chief in 2006 while Donna traveled a very different path. She was an entrepreneur and private business owner for over 20 years before joining the ranks of Law Enforcement. Currently Donna serves as a Commander for the Marina Police Department in California. Together Bob and Donna combine not only their wide ranging leadership experiences but also their individual gender perspectives from both the private and public sector to enlighten and engage the student in a thought provoking and fun lesson on the fundamentals of influencing individuals, groups and organizations.
