Event Details

Drug Endangered Children Training:  Every day throughout the State of Montana, children suffer and are placed in danger at the hands of adults who are active in their drug use. These adults not only expose this helpless population to drugs, but drug labs and moreover a high-risk lifestyle. Long term effects are just as debilitating as immediate contamination. The DEC approach is a multidisciplinary strategy designed to change the trajectory of a drug endangered child’s life though a common vision and ongoing community collaboration. At the end of this training, students will gain an understanding of how to identify these victims, complete a full investigation of the crime of child endangerment, rescue the child from a drug plagued environment and provide evidence necessary to increase offender accountability and promote victim safety. 2 Hours
