HELENA – Montana Attorney General Austin Knudsen led a coalition of 16-state attorneys general supporting President Trump’s effort to pass the SAVE America Act, which will protect America’s elections, strengthen the country’s national defense, and support American farmers.
In the letter sent today to President Donald Trump, Attorney General Knudsen supported the President’s efforts in calling on the Senate to pass the budget resolution for the SAVE America Act, which begins the budget reconciliation process and fast-tracks budget-related bills to pass with a simple majority. In July, the U.S. House of Representatives passed its budget resolution for the SAVE America Act.
“Our call to action today represents our deep understanding of how critical it is for Congress to deliver resources for our warfighters, assistance for our farmers and ranchers, and the urgent need to pass the commonsense election integrity measures included in the SAVE America Act,” Attorney General Knudsen wrote. “You can count on our support to help get this package to your desk as quickly as possible.”
The SAVE America Act will help fund military operations, provide equipment and supplies to ensure our military remains the strongest in the world. Additionally, the resolution will provide necessary economic assistance to farmers and ranchers across the nation, who are the backbone of America.
Attorneys General from Alabama, Florida, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Missouri, Mississippi, Ohio, Nebraska, Pennsylvania, Oklahoma, Texas, South Carolina, West Virginia, and Utah also signed on in support.
Attorney General Knudsen is committed to working with President Trump to keep America safe and prosperous. In June, he urged congressional leaders to pass the Secure America Act, which funds U.S. Customs and Border Protection and U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement. In May, he joined the Trump Administration’s anti-fraud roundtable to combat wasteful spending, abuse, and fraud in federal benefit programs. In April, Attorney General Knudsen was in Washington, D.C. as the Trump Administration announced efforts to protect the Second Amendment and reduce burdens on law-abiding gun owners.
