Thursday’s Class will introduce students to understanding how to identify individual traits left on fired cases and bullets. They will work through multiple spent cases and will be hands on matching cases to their controlled known case.
Students will then be introduced to the FBI’s GRC database to match cases and bullets to individual firearms make and models.
Students will learn how to collect fingerprint evidence from spent cases.
Friday’s class will incorporate the means and methods to collect ballistic evidence from animals through actual necropsy work. Work will include understanding the effects of certain types of weapons on animal carcasses. Documentation and evidence collection of findings.
