POST has approved 8 hours.

This one-day ”Train the Trainer” Class* will provide everything needed to become a
Certified Instructor in the use of Radar and Lidar.
Must have an instructor certification now as an instructor, FTO, etc. with at least one-year experience in the operation of radar and lidar.

Topics will include:

• The importance of speed enforcement, history and scientific
  principles behind these devices, the operation of the equipment, testing and
  procedures, case laws, health issues, and officer safety.
• The courtroom testimony of an officer, properly trained in the operation of radar and
  lidar, is highly valued and the certification for radar and lidar operation enforces the
  credibility of that testimony. Don’t get your case thrown out or have your integrity
  challenged due to a lack of training.

David Foster, as an IPTM Certified Instructor who meets NHTSA compliance for use of
speed measurement devices, will facilitate this “generic” course, based on NHTSA
guidelines and not designed to promote any speed enforcement manufacturer or brand.
Upon conclusion of this course with the successful completion of the final exam each
officer will receive:

• Certificate of Completion
• Radar & Lidar Operator PowerPoint Presentation with Notes, Tests, & More.
