Great Falls, MT: A suspect was apprehended on April 18th in connection with a fatal hit and run involving a semi and passenger vehicle south of Great Falls on April 15th, 2017. Jaroglav Kleberc, 51, of Winnipeg, Manitoba was taken into custody in Katy, Texas after an ongoing Montana Highway Patrol investigation tied him to the scene of a fatal crash that claimed the life of Marvin Knutson, 72, of Swift Current, Saskatchewan. Kleberc is awaiting extradition back to Cascade County on charges of negligent homicide, felony tampering with evidence and felony failure to remain on scene of a fatal crash. Montana Highway Patrol troopers were able to locate the suspect after following up on witness statements and video footage of the semi.

Knutson was northbound on I-15 south of Great Falls at approximately 2215 when his 1997 Dodge Caravan struck the semi at a right angle in the right rear axle of the trailer. Kleberc was allegedly making an illegal U-turn through the median in an authorized traffic only crossover. He reportedly left the scene after the crash. Knutson died of his injuries on scene.

Montana Highway Patrol troopers will be traveling to Texas soon to follow up on the investigation.

The victim, Marvin Knutson, is pictured at the top of the release.
