The Public Safety Officer Standards & Training Council is administratively attached to the Department and is responsible for establishing basic and advanced qualification training standards for employment of Montana’s public safety officers. The Montana Board of Crime Control is also administratively attached to the Department and provides crime data and resources to proactively contribute to public safety and crime prevention. Click here for more information.

The End of Watch Trust, also administratively attached to the Department, supports eligible law enforcement officers and their immediate family in the event of an officer’s death or catastrophic injury in the line of duty. Click here for more information.
