Public Safety Communications Advisory Council
Statewide Public Safety Communications Advisory Council was established by the 2017 Legislature, and the Statewide Public Safety Communications System Act under 44-4-16 M.C.A. The Advisory Council advises the Department of Justice concerning future development, sustainability, funding, standards, policies and rulemaking. The Advisory Council also reviews operations and funding of the of the Statewide Public Safety Communications System.
9-1-1 Advisory Council
The 9-1-1 Advisory Council provides 9-1-1 stakeholders the opportunity to participate in the development, implementation, and management of the State of Montana’s 9‑1-1 Program. The Council advises the department on the allocation and distribution of 9-1-1 fees, makes recommendations on grant awards, provides advice on the statewide 9-1-1 plan, and gives guidance on other significant matters concerning 9-1-1 systems development and 9‑1-1 services in the state of Montana.
