On July 11, 2014, the Department adopted a new Official Montana Poker Rule Book which is referenced in 23.16.1201, ARM within the “Authority Reference” definition.  Click the link to view or print a copy.

Live Card Tables

Any licensed location wishing to offer live card games needs to complete a Live Card Table permit application.  The permit can also be applied for through your TAP account.  Log in to your account by visiting https://tap.dor.mt.gov.

Tournaments

• Large Stakes Tournament Permits can be applied for through your TAP account.  Log in to your account by visiting https://tap.dor.mt.gov. The hard copy application is available here.
• Small Stakes Tournament Permits can be applied for through your TAP account. Log in to your account by visiting https://tap.dor.mt.gov. The hard copy application is available here.

When it is time to renew your license, follow the instructions below:

1. NAVIGATE to:  https://tap.dor.mt.gov

• LOGIN to your existing TAP account if you already have one (you may have used this to file your individual income taxes).
  • Click “Add Access to Another Account” on the left-hand side of the screen.
  • Select Your Account Type (Card Dealer License or Card Room Contractor).
  • Enter your Account ID (CDL or CRC) which can be found on your license or renewal form and Zip Code.
• OR click “Sign up Now!” to create an account.
  • Select Your Account Type (Card Dealer License or Card Room Contractor).
  • Enter your Account ID (CDL or CRC – printed on your license or renewal form) and your Zip Code.
  • Enter Profile Information (what you would like to use for your new TAP account).

2. Once logged in, click on your ACCOUNT ID (e.g. xxxxxxx-xxx-CDL).
3. Click “File Now” and follow the instructions.
